5:30 p.m. All In Fellowship Meal 2025 Kick-Off
The church will provide the main entree, roast beef. You can bring a salad, side, dessert or bread that will serve 8 to 10 people or pay $8 per adult (age13+) and $3 per child (age 5-12). The meal cap is $20 per family.

6:30 p.m. Historical Presentation
Following the meal, the 225th Anniversary Committee invites you to enjoy a special presentation highlighting the history of First Presbyterian Church. Together, we’ll reflect on our story through treasured photographs and meaningful moments over the years.

Sunday, September 7

11 a.m. 225th Anniversary Worship Service
Join us in worship on Sunday, September 7 to celebrate 225 years of worship with a tribute to our Scottish Heritage, remembrance of the past, and a look forward to embracing our future. The Anniversary Celebration Service Music will include bagpipes, trumpet, flute, cello, handchimes, handbells, and combined choral works. The service music will premiere an anniversary work by Theodore Schwamm, “Teach Us, O God”, and the anthem commissioned for the 200th Anniversary by Helen Kemp, “Come Children, and Join In Our Festival Song”.

12 p.m. Congregational Photo
Immediately following the 11 a.m. worship service, we will gather on the front steps and porch of the Sanctuary for a congregational photo.

12:15 p.m. Celebration Luncheon in Fellowship Hall
Enjoy a delicious fully catered meal featuring roast beef, turkey, mashed potatoes, squash casserole, green beans, garden salad, rolls, and dessert.

4:30 p.m. Historical Scavenger Hunt
You are invited to join the Kingdom Kidz and S.U.R.G.E. kick-off with an intergenerational scavenger hunt around the church grounds. Following the event, a pizza dinner will be served.

The church will provide the main entree. You can bring a salad, side, dessert or bread that will serve 8 to 10 people or pay $8 per adult (age13+) and $3 per child (age 5-12). The meal cap is $20 per family. Childcare will be provided in the Nursery Wing during class, and rehearsal. For planning purposes, please register for the All In Fellowship meals in September.

6:30 p.m. Celebration Choir Rehearsal
Join the Music! Psalm 95: 1, 2 - “Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout to the Rock of our salvation! Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him in song.” The Celebration Choir sings every Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service. This group also prepares classical music for larger performances, such as “Jubilate Deo” by Dan Forrest and Vivaldi’s “Gloria”, planned for this fall. The ability to read music is helpful. If you’re interested in joining the Celebration Choir, please contact Dr. Marcia Mervin at marcia@firstprez.com.

6:30 p.m. “Managing Anxiety: Yours & Theirs” - Adult Education Class with Dr. Garrett beginning September 10
Anxiety carries a message that keeps you stuck and trapped, but you can learn to replace it with a true belief of freedom and peace. New topics will be explored throughout the year.
This class meets in the Activity Room.

6:30 p.m. Stretch & Scripture beginning September 10
Classes are open to youth (6th grade and up) as well as adults, with a focus on exercising the body, mind, and spirit by integrating Scripture and Christian music with low-impact aerobics and gentle stretching. The class may include elements of floorwork and breathwork, creating a sense of peace and centering on Christ. This class meets in room 225. Participants are encouraged to bring a towel/yoga mat and yoga blocks. Sign up for Stretch & Scripture online by clicking here.

6:30 p.m. God’s Little Creators
Calling all preschool and elementary kids! Join us each Wednesday night for a fun-filled hour of creativity, motion, and Bible discovery. Through hands-on art projects, engaging Bible stories, and interactive movement, children will connect with God in playful and meaningful ways. This class will be in room 104 and takes place during childcare.

Wednesday Evening Meals

Join us on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. for a dinner with potluck sides. At 6:30 p.m., join in the Celebration Choir Rehearsal and an Adult Christian Education Class with Dr. Garrett.
