Holiday Season Outreach Opportunities

Our Local Relief Ministry team is currently working on four upcoming opportunities to support our local neighbors this Thanksgiving and Christmas season, as well as help them stay warm in the months ahead.

We would greatly appreciate your help with the following:
Socktober - During the month of October, we will be collecting children’s and adult socks that will be provided to Walker Spivey Elementary, Myrover Reese Street Outreach, and Operation Inasmuch.
Thanksgiving Meals – In November, we will be putting together 60 Thanksgiving meal boxes for families with children at Walker Spivey Elementary. We will be collecting canned carrots, canned peas, bags of rice, and bags of black-eyed peas.
Christmas Angel Tree - Be on the lookout in early November for our annual Christmas Angel Tree. We have adopted 11 families (24 children total) with children at Walker Spivey Elementary. There will be separate tags for each wish list item for each child so that you have the option to provide a single gift for a child, or if you choose you can adopt the child and agree to provide all the items (3) on their list.
Winter Survival Kits - In early December, we will be packing Winter Survival and Winter Food kits to support the Myrover Reese Homeless Street Outreach. Our Children and Youth ministries will do the packing. We are in need of HotHands Hand Warmers (2 per pack), Thermal Blankets (4 pack for $6.99 on Amazon), single serve pouches of hot chocolate and coffee.

Please consider supporting our Local Relief Ministry by donating some of the items listed. As always, if you would prefer to support our Ministry financially you can do so by a gift to the church designated as “Local Relief Ministry”. Please contact the church office at 910-483-0121 if you have any questions.
