Summer Missions

The Middle School Summer Mission to the Raleigh area was June 11-16. To see a video of the mission, click here.

First Presbyterian young people spent a week at the Raleigh Youth Mission and each student averaged 17 hours of service for 221 hours for the week. The students worked at Family Promise, Loaves and Fishes, Ruth Sheets Adult Day Care Center, Kirk of Kildaire, and Healing Transitions. The volunteer hours saved the RYM about $3,000… what it would have cost the agency to hire someone to do the work of the students.

The Mexico Mission for adults and high school students will be July 9-15. The dedication of the mission was Sunday, June 25th. To see a video of the dedication portion of the service, click here.

Youth at First Presbyterian Church

Our Youth Ministry includes Middle School (Grades 6-8) and High School (Grades 9-12).  The church youth activities are open to any Christian or seeking preteen or teenager in the Fayetteville area.

Purpose of Youth Ministry:

  • Grow in personal relationship with Christ
  • Serve others through mission work/opportunities.
  • Learn and discuss relevant topics of the Christian faith.
  • Develop friendships through times of fellowship and fun.

CRAVE Youth Ministry exists to…Challenge students to experience Jesus, so they can…Reach their community for Christ; to…Acquire accountable Christian friendships, and help them…Visualize their God-given talents, so they can…Exalt God with their lives.

Ways to get involved:

  • Wednesday Together: Youth meet for seminars from 5:45-6:15 p.m. and Bible study from 6:15-7 p.m.  The seminars change every 4-5 weeks and are a time for exploration of music, drama, sports, and other fields.  Teens to step out of their comfort zones and learn something new about themselves.  The Bible study that follows focuses on deepening their faith.
  • Sunday School: On Sundays from 9:45-10:45 am our youth gather to study the Bible.  It is a time full of discussions centered around Scripture.  We use God’s word to build the foundation of our faith and apply it to our daily lives.  Middle School (6th-8th grade) meet in Room 232, High School (9th-12th grade) meet in Room 228.
  • CRAVE Youth Group: What do you CRAVE?  The youth group on Sunday evenings is a time of fun and fellowship.  We eat, play, worship, and pray together.
  • Mission: We love to share our love of Christ with others.  We strive to focus on at least one mission project a month, particularly in and around our community.  We are always looking for ways to love, help, and empower the people around us.
