 Chorus  Time  Description

Celebration Choir

Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. The Celebration Choir sings weekly for the 10:55 a.m. Service of Worship as well as for other special services. Repertoire consists of a wide variety of styles from classical and traditional to spirituals and contemporary. Participation is open to high school students through adults. The Celebration Choir is under the direction of Dr. Marcia Heirman Mervin. Childcare is available. Rehearsals take place in the Music Suite, Choir Room
Chapel Choir 2nd & 4th Sundays, 8:00 a.m. The Chapel Choir sings on the second and fourth Sundays for the 8:30 a.m. Service of Worship in the Chapel. Rehearsals are at 8:00 a.m. on the Sunday the choir is singing. Anthems are simple in nature and in a variety of styles. The Chapel Choir is under the direction of Dr. Marcia Heirman Mervin.

Men of God (Men’s Chorus)

INACTIVE The men of the church are invited to join the men’s chorus. Under the direction of Dr. Marcia Heirman Mervin. Choir Room
Jubilate (Women’s Chorus) 3 p.m. Sundays through May All women and high school girls are invited to join this SSA ensemble. Class Participation in the Music Ministry The Music Director would enjoy working with Sunday School classes who might be interested in singing during worship services 3 or 4 times a year. Please contact Dr. Marcia Heirman Mervin at 483-0121 or marcia@firstprez.com with ideas, questions, etc.

Elementary Children’s Chorus

Wednesdays, 6:00-6:35 p.m.  K-5: Directors: Linda Huff & Carol Short  Room 209

Handbells

 Canticle Handbell Ringers/Sundays, 1:30 p.m.

Grade 5 through adult. This is a group for ringers who want to experience the joy of ringing handbells for worship. They prepare handbell processionals, hymn descants and bell repertoire to participate regularly in Worship Services and other programs. Handbell Room 107

Revelation Ringers/Mondays, 1:00 p.m. 

Adults. This is a group of handbell ringers who want more! These ringers will explore the art of ensemble handbell ringing. (Ensemble ringing requires fewer ringers than a regular handbell choir.)  They will ring for Sunday Worship and other programs.  Music reading ability and prior handbell experience is required. Handbell Room 107

Instrumentalists

Church Orchestra The church orchestra welcomes instrumentalists from 8th grade through adult, or by special permission. The orchestra meets for two four- to six-week periods each year and will participate in worship during those periods.  Rehearsals this year are February 28, March 6, March 13, and Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m. The orchestra will perform for worship on Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016.
