Director of Children's Ministry

Preschool and Elementary Sunday School Teachers enjoyed a time of appreciation with refreshments and personalized gifts from their classes Sunday, May 4, 2008. Their faithful leadership is fulfilling the “Great Commission” to make disciples. Thank you, Meredith Stiehl and Katie Bricker, along with your team, for organizing this special event!

Vacation Bible School 2008 - Rainforest adventure

June 23-27, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday, Friday 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Friday's VBS includes a family picnic in the Fellowship Building. Pray for each volunteer and child who participates in this wonderful week of study, fun, and fellowship.

Special Summer Event Coming!!!

June 18, Wednesday, 12:00-2:00 p.m. SWIM EVENT at Dark Branch Resort.

Registration forms are available on posters in the hallways of the Church.

VBS Volunteer Celebration

Wednesday, May 21, 5:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Building

The Celebration features the theme and classes for RAINFOREST ADVENTURE 2008. Adult and Youth Leaders enjoy dinner and fellowship while experiencing adventure stations.

Check the Children’s Ministry Summer 2008 Brochure for ministry opportunities. Call Julie or Charlyne (483-0121) at assist with any of these ministries. Registration forms for all activities are available at the Church and are due by June 15, 2008.

Summer Sunday School begins June 15. Preschool classes study God’s Love; Elementary classes explore “Shareable Parables.” Broadly graded classes are available for the summer session. To enjoy learning and leading with the children, contact Julie or Charlyne (483-0121).

First Steps -

Toddlers (12-24 months) Room 104

God loves me and you! Toddlers learn how special baby Jesus is! Tell me about Jesus – Baby Jesus; Wise men came to see Jesus; God loves me all the time; God loves me when I am thankful, scared, and sad; Jesus prayed to God; and more!

Bible Thumbprints

(2-year-olds) Room 106

Young children learn how special Jesus is and that the Bible tells us about Jesus and God. They learn by repeating the Bible story as well as through crafts, music and listening.

Bible Fingerprints

(3-year-olds)

Room 108

Through music, pantomime, puppetry and art responses, along with a variety of other activities, children will relive and respond to each week’s Bible Story. Children will feel the wonder and love for the One who loves and cares for us, They will feel that they belong to God and are secure in God’s love and care.

(4-year-olds)

Through many great stories of Scripture children will learn about some recurring themes in the Bible (God’s love and care for us, God’s gift of Jesus, our response and thanks to obedience, and so forth). These themes are rooted in the story and lived out in our everyday experiences as children of God.

 

Bible Footprints (Kindergarten)

Children will come to know and delight in stories about Jesus and about God’s Old Testament people, they will develop a deeper understanding of who Jesus is and how much he loves us, and they will respond to God (Jesus) with attitudes, actions of love, wonder, trust, obedience, praise and service.

Bible Steps (First Grade)

Units include: Thank You God for People, God forgives Adam and Eve, and God Keeps Promises.  Children will develop a deeper understanding of who Jesus is and how much he loves us. They will respond to God (Jesus) with attitudes, actions of love, wonder, trust, obedience, praise and service, as they will come to know and delight in stories about Jesus and God's Old Testament people.


Bible Trails

(Second and Third Grade) Room 208

Units will include: God's Promises Come True, Jesus Calls Us to FOllow Him, and Jesus can Do Powerful Things. Children will respond to God through prayer, worship, celebration, wonder, witness, service and creative activities. Students will begin their Sunday morning in the Opening Assembly (Room 203).


Bible Guide

(Fourth and Fifth Grade) Room 203

Through prayer, worship, celebration, wonder, witness, service, and creative activities children will learn more about God. Units include: Jesus Begins His Work, Jesus Teaches about God's Kingdom, Jesus Teaches Us How to Live. Students will being their Sunday morning in the Opening Assembly (Room 203).


Elementary Opening Assembly

(Grades 2-5): Room 203

Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Grade classes enjoy music time in their classrooms.

Nursery Staff provides supervised care with Bible story, music, videos & learning activities.

There is extended nursery care for Chancel Choir Rehearsals, Diaconate, Session, and Wednesday committee meetings. Please call the church office (483.0121) if you would like to request childcare for your next meeting!
