Interim Director of Youth Ministry

This position is available immediately, and may continue beyond the interim period, upon the agreement of both the employer and the Interim Director.

Duties of the Position: 
Plan and run Sunday night youth group from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., including set-up and clean-up.
Assist with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. each week (Sundays).
Ability to help with Wednesday night programs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. is preferred.
Be intentional in forming Christian relationships with 6th to 12th grade members of the youth group, encouraging them in their Christian walk.

The ideal candidate will have:
Personal experience (either attendance or work history) with a medium to large church setting.
Comfort with the Presbyterian expression of the Christian faith.
A strong Christian faith and a willingness to share that faith with 6th to 12th grade students.
The ability to teach 15- to 30- minute lessons for either middle school students, high school students, or a combination of the two.
Experience leading a Bible study.
An interest or experience in leading praise music, games and events is preferred.
The willingness to contact parents/church members to coordinate volunteers.

Hours per Week: Estimated 10 – 20 hours per week

Associate Pastor (Christian Education)

Duties of the Position: 
A detailed job description is available on request. Key responsibilities include:

  • provide entrepreneurial leadership to developing discipleship within the church, including Christian education, youth programs, bible study, small groups, community service opportunities, collaborations, and other avenues yet to be discerned;
  • preach the word and lead God’s people in worship as part of the pastoral team;
  • carry a share of the pastoral team’s load in providing pastoral care to members in need, and in covering weddings and funerals as required;
  • foster and sustain a committed team of church members to ensure ongoing quality youth programming throughout the year;
  • build compassionate relationships with visitors and potential members, helping them to explore opportunities for community and fellowship with the church;
  • provide leadership to Session committees and other staff members to develop and organize Christian education programs for adults of all ages;
  • provide support to existing Sunday school and Wednesday programming;
  • explore opportunities for members and partners to engage in mission outreach as spiritual development;
  • collaborate closely with staff, officers, and volunteers to discern new ways to foster continuous learning, spiritual leadership development, and discipleship in the church.
