Fellowship of Young Adults/Families

A dinner party is planned for Saturday, October 13, at the home of Mike and Marcia Garrett, from 5-7 p.m. Childcare will be offered at the church. Guests are asked to contribute a side dish, dessert, or drinks for the meal.

Dinner at the Hammond Home

The Young Adults Fellowship has dinner planned for the home of the Jennifer and Brandon Hammond on Saturday, October 27, from  5 p.m. The dinner will be a “taco night” affair. Hammonds will provide the chicken and beef. Guest are asked to sign up to bring items like cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, taco shells (soft and hard), rice and beans, as well as drinks and desserts.

Questors G.I.F.T. Class The Wired Word  
 Questors Class Room 203 The class considers the sermon and Scripture of the day. Led by Dr. Mike Garrett.
 G.I.F.T. Class Activity Room “Growing in Faith Together”: Bible study, discussion. With Herb Bryan.
 The Wired Word Room 405 The class again has turned to the news headlines as the inspiration for the class. Members discuss the lastest news in a Christian light and how that can be applied to their daily lives. Led by Bill McFadyen.
 Fellowship Class The Chapel The class gave the indication that they would not be meeting this semester and members would join other classes.
 Covenant Class Room 416 Follows the Standard Lesson Quarterly. Class of caring singles and couples age 55 and older.
 Calvin Class Rankin Building Uniform Bible lesson. Men in fellowship, serving God & the community.
 Friendship Class Room 413 The class gave the indication that they would not be meeting this semester and members would join other classes.

Tapestry 2.0 Downtown Walking Tour
Dr. Mike Garrett Room 405 For the first five weeks of Wednesday Together, Dr. Garrett will be leading an exploration of “The Me I’d Like to Be.” The class looks at the historic practices Christians have used to aid their transformation in becoming more like Jesus. Beginning February 21st, the class will look at the meaning of the crucifixion in “Who Needs a Crucified Christ?”
Dr. Donna Fowler-Marchant Room 416 Donna’s Wednesday evening class is reading and discussing Girl Meets God:…On the Path to a Spiritual Life by Lauren Winner. This tells the story of the soul-searching a women does in choosing Christianity over Judaism.  The Goodreads website is a great place to shop for this book.
Tapestry 2.0/Kelly Sherrill Room 413 Studying Lisa Harper’s “Job: A Story of Unlikely Joy.” Discover the redemptive side to Job’s story of suffering. Learn to use pain to strengthen your faith and point others to the gospel.
Downtown Historic Walking Tour/Ann Highsmith Eller Hall This class takes in the sights and sites around down Fayetteville and looks at the buildings and the history made around town. Runs through October 24th.
