Adult Wednesday Together

Winter/Spring 2012 Class Schedule

"Ground Rules for God's Kingdom"

The Chapel • 6:30 pm Led by Dr. Coker

The Christian Life According to Jesus – If you are going to play the game, you have to know the rules! What about life and faith? Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount” still brings to you the “ground rules” of what it means to be a Christian. Jesus really does understand who you are, the challenges you face and what you need to live life as his followers. Line after line, you are provided with a Christian value-system, ethical stands, guides for spiritual devotion, money, ambition, lifestyle, and relationships. This class provides the opportunity to examine Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount” found in Matthew 5-7.

"Bible Tour: The First Five Books"

The Rankin Building 6:30 pm Led by Dr. Toney

Dr. Toney will look at significant passages from the Pentateuch – the first five books of the Bible. We will study the account of the first sin by Adam and Eve in Genesis which resulted in the fall of humankind. We will examine the call of Moses in the book of Exodus. Likewise we shall look at the panic experienced by the former Hebrew slaves when they got to the edge of the Promised Land in the book of Numbers. In the class, we’ll use those passages to reflect on a range of issues from how sin affects us and our relationships to how we struggle to respond to God’s call in our own lives..

"Call Him Savior"

Room B1.5 (basement) 6:30 pm

Led by Dr. Fowler-Marchant

A special class for Lent begins February 15. The 7-week study “Call Him Savior” offers both opportunity and challenge as we journey with Jesus to Jerusalem. We will witness anew the passion of Jesus. As we take our place at the foot of the cross and share the wonder at the empty tomb, we will strengthen our own faith in the power of Christ’s resurrection.

Youth Ministry classes are led by Marshall Steinle

We will study the works of God through Moses and the Israelites. We will learn about the plagues on Egypt, the Ten Commandments, and God’s Promised Land. In the Book of Exodus, God reveals His glory and demonstrates His love for His chosen people. The Bible shows how God loves us and is continually revealing himself to us today.
