Nursery Childcare Provider
First Presbyterian Church is in search of a nursery caregiver that provides safe and loving care to children during worship services, special events and meetings, and other days as assigned.
Qualified individuals must be available: Sunday mornings 8:30 am-12:30 pm, Sunday evenings 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm, Wednesday evenings 4:30 pm-7:30 pm, during special events (ex. VBS) and committee meetings.
This position would be great for a stay at home parent, because your children are invited to join you in the nursery or join with the church’s activities. The schedule is flexible. Reliability is necessary.
The church body seeks friendly applicants with a positive attitude, warm and affectionate personality, flexibility, and an ability to maintain composure under difficult circumstances. This position must effectively supervise children from birth to Kindergarten age; complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check and reference check; uphold all Child Protection, Safety and Nursery policies; and engage children in hands-on Bible based learning. CPR certification and reliable transportation are necessary.
The average work week will be 8 to 12 hours and the pay is $13 per hour.
Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor
PURPOSE: The principal function of the Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor is to maintain the church office in an orderly manner that consistently satisfies the needs of the Senior Pastor, the Pastoral and Program Staffs and the congregation as a whole.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Executive Assistant is responsible to the Senior Pastor and is under his/her immediate supervision. This position is also responsible to the Church Manager concerning all matters that involve coordination of daily activities and resources with others.
Duties: Specific duties include but are not necessarily limited to:
RECORDKEEPING:
-Maintain office files and permanent records.
-Maintain church register of members, deaths, marriages, and baptisms.
-Notify appropriate persons regarding deaths and funeral services.
SECRETARIAL:
-Type correspondence for the Pastor and other Program Staff.
-Perform secretarial duties for members of the Program Staff.
-Serve as Pastor’s receptionist, handling telephone calls, as requested.
-Greet visitors and address their various needs.
-Type materials for all groups and committees of the church.
-Maintain master church calendar of activities.
-Keep a sick and hospitalized list updated and posted.
SPECIFIC duties to perform for the SESSION include:
-Type weekly minutes and monthly docket for mailing, as directed.
-Maintain permanent record book up to date.
-Assist with annual statistical report.
-Mail communion and monthly assignments notices to Officers.
SPECIFIC duties to perform for the BOARD of DEACONS include:
-Type minutes of monthly meetings and mailing same, as directed.
-Maintain permanent record book up to date.
-Mail monthly assignment notices, as directed.
PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
REQUIRED experience: Five (5) or more years of directly related work experience
PREFERRED experience: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and church software applications (e.g. ACS)
